KAREL FINGL

A graduate of the Prague State Conservatory with a degree in percussion, Karel Fingl has been a member of the Prague State Opera Orchestra since 1993, serving as its principal timpanist since 2007. His extensive experience also includes ten years as a member of the Czech Radio Symphony Orchestra. He frequently collaborates with various other musical ensembles, such as Virtuosi di Praga, the Czech National Symphony Orchestra, and the Film Symphony Orchestra.

Karel Fingl enriches these performances with his expertise in percussion and melodic percussion instruments, particularly within jazz and film repertoires. His program also features virtuoso solo pieces for xylophone and piano, including Aram Khachaturian’s Sabre Dance and other celebrated works.
